Darwin Out For Browse

Darwin Out For Browse

Date: May 2015

Woodside Petroleum has formally scrapped Darwin from it list of potential supply bases for the Browse floating LNG project and not included any plans for a logistics operation at James Price Point. Instead, Woodside expects to meed most of its maritime supply demands accross Fremantle, Dampier and Broome, completemented by operations at the Karratha, Derby and Broome airports and Lombadina Helicopter refueling post, near Broome. A purpose-built supply base has been revealed in the project's final environmental impact statement (EIS) released yesterday. The Darwin Supply Base option would have seen the Woodside-led project become the third Browse assect, following the Prelude FLNG and Ichthys LNG ventures, to be serviced from the NT. Woodseide is expected to reveal more details about Browse, including a rough development timetable, as its annual investor day in Melbourne.
